Kobe not only played basketball but soccer as well.

In the 1990s, the Bryant family moved back to Lower Merion where Kobe enrolled into Lower Merion High School.

He led his high school to four straight state championships.

Kobe had a very interesting few years when he was in the league. He became one of the youngest All Star NBA player in history, had deals with Adidas, Sprite and even did some acting. He also had a rap career but that did not go anywhere.

From 2000 to 2002, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal won back to back NBA championships.

Kobe made 18 appearances at the NBA All-Star Game. In the recent one that happened in February, the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver named the MVP Award after Kobe.

By 2004, Shaquelle O'Neal left the Lakers and the team struggled. Kobe was doing well regardless of the teams' struggles when he had made 81 points in a game in 2006 and the following year, he led the league in scoring.

In 2008, Kobe was the league's most valuable player, led his team to the NBA Finals that year and lost. The following years, 2009 and 2010, the Lakers won their fourth and fifth NBA Finals Championship games.

Kobe was a two time Olympic Gold Medalist in 2008 and 2012.

In 2013, injury plague Kobe but he managed to continue playing until he realized that he could no longer play the way he used to. In 2015, he announced his retirement.

In his last game on April 13, 2016, Kobe had an sold out, all-star game in which he had 60 points and won the game against the Utah Jazz. Kobe thanked the fans, the organization for everything in his career.

Kobe hosted a show on ESPN called Detail

Kobe became so influenced by his time with his daughters, particularly reading bedtime stories with them that according to People magazine, "his bedtime stories sparked a second career, and he started a multimedia company, Granity Studios to turn the tales he'd dreamed up for his daughters into books, films and podcasts" (p. 48).

Kobe did a short film called Dear Basketball that won an Oscar for Best Animated Short.

He started to coach his daughter Gianna's games at the Mamba Sports Academy and wanted to train her for a career in the WNBA.
